JESSICA Rasmussen, Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Jessica (she/her) is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant based in Vancouver, BC. Committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming care, she tailors her therapeutic services to meet each client's needs. With experience in various settings—including schools, homes, clinics, and community environments—she passionately facilitates child-led, play-based therapy sessions that enhance engagement and development.

Jessica holds the DIR Floortime Basic Certificate, further enhancing her skills in supporting children's growth. She has also completed the Meaningful Speech Course, which focuses on working with Gestalt Language Processors and individuals who use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

Her primary focus is on supporting neurodiverse individuals, particularly those who are autistic or nonspeaking/minimally speaking, as well as children needing help with regulation and sensory strategies. She uses a multimodal communication approach that prioritizes trust and respect in all her interactions. Jessica understands that regulation, felt safety, connection, and intrinsic motivation are crucial for language development, which fundamentally guides her practice.
